We can make several different snoring mouthpieces.  These devices are available by prescription only.   They all basically work the same way, by advancing the mandible to open the airway during sleep.  It’s very important that you do not rely on them as a cure or long-term treatment.  Only a diagnosis and recommendation from a sleep medicine doctor can be truly considered a medical treatment, though many people attest to having had their symptoms greatly reduced when using these mandibular advancement devices.

We offer several options:

THE NARVAL CC

A proprietary design using CAD/CAM technology offers one of the lightest solutions on the market. Minimal bulk in the mouth ensures comfort.  Absence of contact with front teeth.  Flexibility eliminates “locked-in” sensation and offers freedom to talk and drink.  Patented optimized retention of the mandible (ORM) articulation promotes mouth closing and physiological breathing during sleep.

THE ADJUSTABLE DORSAL

Precision-milled upper and lower splints hold the jaw in the desired forward position. Interlocking wings allow a desirable degree of sideways movement, thus alleviating muscle spasm. The inclines keep the jaw from dropping open during sleep but enable the mouth to open and close normally.  The ATG Dorsal is ideal for patients with existing crown and/or bridge work.

THE TAP 3

The Thornton Adjustable Positioner 3 features smaller hardware that provides more room for the tongue and lips.  An adjustable hook mechanism attached to the upper tray fits into a socket attached to the lower tray to position the jaw forward.  A key is provided for the patient to adjust the position of the lower jaw until a comfortable and effective balance is achieved.
